Two Kilometres downs the road, in Bøyum, are our spring lambs, raised by Gunvor and Geir Ove. The lambs are born in the spring, and during the summer months are released into the mountains to graze on wild food. Not only does this improve the flavour of the meat by giving the animals a varied diet and keeping them lean, but is also considered and important part of forest ecology, having been practiced in Norway for centuries. In the Autumn the farmers head into the hills to collect their herds together.
